Poetry Folders:
Dear Parents,
Every other Friday the children will bring
home this folder with a new poem to practice.
Please take 2-5 minutes each night and read
the poem with your child. It is important that
you use your finger and point to each word as
you read the poem. At first many children
will memorize the poem. As the year
progresses you should notice your child
starting to point to each word. Many of the
first grade students will be doing that now.
Help your child find the words in the poem.
Please follow this session by allowing your
child to select any book they would like to
have read to them or want to read to you.
Send poetry folders back to school each
monday!
